The documentary by Jerzy Kalina “The Prophet in the Theatre” depicts artist’s struggle with art. Krystian Lupa - world famous and appraised theater director prepares his next play “Zaratrusta” based on the text by Fridrich Nitzsche. The film shows Lupa’s unique and characteristic way of work with actors and his total commitment to joint creation of the work. ”Zaratrusta” comes into being in quite untypical circumstances under time and place pressure, because its premiere is supposed to take place in the ancient theatre at Acropolis. During the preparations comes out as well Lupa’s attitude toward the theatre as his fascinations, relations with actors but also his weakness resulting from the difficulty of encountering the matter of the art. “The Prophet in the Theatre” is a passionate artistic documentary on the artist.
