At the 5th International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival "Docudays" which ended on the 4th of April in Kiev, two films "The First Day" directed by Marcin Sauter and "Stone Silence" directed by Krzysztof Kopczynski have been awarded.

"The First Day" at "Crossroads of Europe"

Between the 2-6 of April in Lublin the 9th International Days of Documentary Cinema "Crossroads of Europe" took place. The Festival’s objective is to present documentaries that concentrate on the problems pertaining to the co-existence of nations and cultures, which deal with the difficult issues of the symbiosis of cultures and religions along with the problems of the borderland and insights into the world of the former great melting-pot in the territories of the Eastern and Central Europe. Marcin Sauter’s film "The First Day" was presented in the short film competition, (Wednesday, 2.04.2008, at 3:30 PM)

Another American university where the films from the 1st edition of the "Russia-Poland. New Gaze" have been presented is the University of Florida. The screenings took place on the 5th of April at 7:30 PM. They were organized by the Polish Culture Institute.

"52 Percent" in Brazil

The audience in Brazil had a chance to see the film "52 percent", which took part in the 13th It’s All True – International documentary festival, taking place in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. This years edition lasted from the 27th of March till the 6th of April 2008. “52 Percent” was qualified for the International Short Film Competition.

On the 30th of March 2008, in the "Warsaw" cinema theatre in Wrocław at 8:00 PM, at a Review Of Young Cinema "Zbliżenie" (Close-up) short Polish-Russian films were shown. Films realized under the "Russia-Poland. New Gaze" project "The Sacred" (dir. Aliona Połunina), "The Suburban Train" (dir. Maciej Cuske), "Moscow Wife"(dir. Barbara Białowąs), "My Kieslowski" (dir. Irina Wołkowa), "The Seeds" (dir. Wojciech Kasperski). The screenings were organized by the "Zblizenie" group.
